Arts and Crafts in your Homeschool

Homeschool arts and crafts can be a touchy subject. Sometimes the idea of doing all kinds of crafts and making all kinds of messes can cause moms to nix the idea before they even try it. They feel they aren’t naturally artistic or “crafty” so they just don’t bother.

I’ve also heard objections about making projects that don’t really contribute to educational purposes. I tend to disagree with this because I think arts and crafts projects can be used in delight-directed unit studies. We do it all the time!

Storage and mess can be an issue, especially if you’re going for a minimalist lifestyle or you live in a small space.

I understand all of these issues, but there are answers to those problems. I’ve written a post about how we’ve overcome these things in our own home so we can enjoy craft time together.
