The Heart of the Gospel (Week 2 of 100 Verses)
This week we are memorizing two verses that represent the heart of the Gospel itself:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
John 3:16 was one of the first memory verses Big Sis ever learned several years ago. I imagine that’s true for many. I think if you know only one verse, then that’s the one! It wraps up the message, the whole purpose of history, and hands it to us beautifully as a gift.
John 1:14 is not one I had committed to memory before, so I’m glad to do that now.
Shanna shared a scripture memory verse worksheet that we’ll use this week as well. I think it will help! We also use copywork and break the verse down into phrases as we learn it.
