A Christmas homeschool morning basket provides a relaxed way to learn together through the holiday season.
A Christmas-themed morning basket is one of the most fun baskets I get to put together all year long! There are so many great classic books and so many new Christmas books to add to your basket, plus all the crafts and activities you can add. I could swap new stuff in every day for the entire month of December and never run out of ideas! I really do get giddy this time of year, just like the kids.

I put this quick one that I pictured together, but I am sharing more ideas for your basket to choose from, many of which I have on order myself to mix into our baskets.

Read Alouds
I love to break out some of our favorite picture books for the holidays. Even if your kids are a little older I guarantee that there are some they love year after year and will cherish in adulthood so don’t think they are too big yet! Hands-on Activities
As much as I love books these may be my favorite part of our holiday school preparations. Hands-on activities are a fun way to make memories with your children during the Christmas season.
Small tabletop Christmas tree – you can decorate one for your school room or your school space, even if it’s the dining room table.
Cookie cutters, with the promise of making cookies together later (math, science, and family fun all rolled into one!).
Christmas stickers to add to journaling pages, use for practicing spelling and vocabulary, or for crafts.
Christmas colored pipe cleaners, pom poms, felt, or craft foam to create Christmas art or ornaments. My daughters are so creative and can make just about anything from pipe cleaners!
Poinsettias – I plan on using these silk ones to talk about how they became a traditional Christmas flower and then use them to make crafts. You could always use a pot of real ones if you prefer.
Ornaments for decorating – glass/plastic balls are my favorite. I will also include paint and we will use other craft supplies to decorate them.
A bucket of white pom poms or cotton balls for an impromptu “snowball fight.”

Choose whatever books and activities are special for your family, include a few new things and mostly just enjoy!
