  1. Over the years (about 30), my family and I have made blown eggs for Easter. They aren’t too had for children ages 8 and up. Even then, eight year olds can sometimes lose their patience. Just take an egg, a bowl, and a straight pin or sewing needle. Using your pin or needle, make a small hole (a little smaller than your pinky nail( on one end of the egg, then while holding the egg over the bowl poke a hole the size of the end of your needle or pin, jiggle the needle inside your egg to hopefully poke the egg yoke. Now, blow into the small hole so the egg comes out the larger hole, into the bowl. I usually put some tap water in the sink into the empty egg shell and swirl it around, then blow the water out, to rinse the egg shell. Get as much of the egg or water out of the egg shell as possible. You might even let the shells sit in your refrigerator overnight if you want. Taking really small pieces of colored tissue paper and glue, glue the paper to the eggshell, totally covering the shell. Since you’re putting flat paper on a round egg, the paper should be about the size of your pinky nail or smaller. Let the glue dry. Once dry, use another layer of glue to put clear glitter over the entire surface of the shell and let dry. When I first started, I would do about a quarter of the shell and at a time and let it dry. These blown eggs look a lot like stained glass and can be put into a basket with Easter grass or hot glue a loop of ribbon to one end of your egg and hang them!
