Portable Storage Caddy for Busy Homeschool Families
Since clutter and organization are constant challenges for homeschool families, I was really excited to receive the Mollie Ollie Mimmo Caddy Organizer for review. Although it was originally designed as a diaper caddy, it is so multi-purpose that I’ve found many ways to use it!
First off, it’s not an eyesore the way some plastic containers or organizers can be. It’s a great quality heavy duty gray felt lined with wipe-clean polyester in a bright turquoise. It has an outside zipper pocket with elastic to hold things like pens, pencils, scissors, crochet hooks, knitting needles, or any other small supply like that. It has dividers inside it and pockets on the outside as well.
It’s available in teal with a rose lining color combination, too.
Versatile Storage Caddy
While I’m sure it makes a great diaper caddy and I would’ve used it as such in the past, right now I’m using it for craft supplies. We have so many arts and crafts supplies with very little storage shelves or closets in our home, so this is very helpful for us. It’s holding drawing paper, colored pencils, crayons, markers, glue, and other lapbooking supplies right now.
It’s sturdy and keeps things organized for me. It’s portable and easy to carry around without being too heavy or bulky. The dividers are attached with velcro, so you can easily removed them if you don’t need them.
When we first received the caddy, we used it in the van for snacks, DVDs, books, and Kindles. It was super handy to put in the back with the kids to easily reach what they needed while we were driving.
It’s so versatile, I’m sure there are a million uses for it!
Here are just a few ideas for using this portable storage caddy:
- diaper caddy
- toys
- arts and crafts supplies
- journaling and planner supplies
- travel caddy for snacks in the car
- knitting and crocheting supplies like yarn, needles, and hooks
- library book caddy
- morning basket books and supplies
My mom is a quilter/knitter/crocheter/crafter so I asked her opinion because I knew she would like to use this type of caddy. Here’s what she had to say:
My first thought was to use it as a handy office supply tote for my cell phone, address book, appointment book, message pad and pens and pencils to carry from room to room. Then I thought, why not for my current journaling with colored pencils and daily devotions book along with a chocolate bar? I could put my current crochet or knitting project in it and custom size it to the project by taking out the removable dividers.
As you can see, the Mollie Ollie Mimmo Caddy Organizer is great for all ages and stages with multiple uses for storage and organizing.
