Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus DVD Review + Giveaway
Teaching a Biblical worldview is an essential part of purposeful parenting in our home. I’m always looking for resources to share with my daughters on this topic.
Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus is a new DVD that details the journey of film maker Tim Mahoney as he experiences a crisis of faith regarding the Biblical account of Exodus. While making a documentary, he spent 12 years researching the topic and found overwhelming evidence for the exodus, which answered all the questions he faced. He presents this information at face value, to allow the viewers to make their own decisions. In other words, the evidence speaks for itself.
I think this type of documentary is important for Christians to watch. I’m reminded of these verses:
15But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. ~ 1 Peter 3:15-16
We must always be ready to defend our faith — graciously, but firmly. If we never ask the tough questions or face objections from others, our faith hasn’t really been tested. I know that God is more than big enough to handle our questions. Jesus invited Thomas to touch the wounds and feel that He was real.
Consider this documentary an invitation to explore the evidence and encounter the blessed assurance of truth.
About the author/filmmaker/producer
Tim Mahoney founded Mahoney Media Group, Inc. (MMG) in 1989. MMG focused its business on television and video production for regional and national companies. In 2014 Tim founded Thinking Man Films & Media as an international documentary & publishing company with a focus on education and the Bible. Tim produced numerous productions for Christian organizations including the Billy Graham Association, World Wide Pictures, and Compassion International. Tim also served as the President of the board for the International Christian Visual Media Association (ICVM). Tim’s first full feature documentary film, “PATTERNS OF EVIDENCE: THE EXODUS”, released in January 2015. The film took 12 years to develop and takes a scientific approach to investigate the events of the biblical Exodus. The overall vision for his film company is to explore “patterns of evidence” that support the biblical narrative and engages the world in a conversation. The film takes a balanced approach and leaves the audience to decide for themselves if the Bible is real history or myth.
