3 Reasons Why We Love Springtime Splendor Mixed Media Art Workshop Online
Spring has officially sprung in our neck of the woods. It’s exciting to see the flowers starting to bloom. We can get back into the routine of nature study and nature walks before it gets too hot. Spring also brings out the creativity in us. {Who am I kidding? We don’t need an excuse to be creative!}
We came across a course that we love and I wanted to share about it. Springtime Splendor: Mixed Media Workshop is an online, self-paced workshop for kids to help them explore their creativity and talent. Kids of various ages and skill levels (and adults, too!) can participate.

3 Reasons We Love Springtime Splendor Mixed Media Workshop
It’s Self-Paced
I personally love that the Springtime Splendor: Mixed Media Workshops provides four weeks worth of lessons, but we can do them at our own pace. Classes are taught via videos in a private password-protected site. It has challenged my kids in a lot of areas, stretching and improving their art skills. We don’t have to feel rushed to keep up. With lifetime access, you can take your time and even repeat lessons if you want.
It Fits into our Schedule
Another reason my family has fallen in love with the Springtime Splendor: Mixed Media Workshops is that we can adjust it to our schedule. Life gets busy from time to time, but our art doesn’t have to suffer. I don’t have to worry about lesson planning ahead of time either. We just keep the supplies on-hand (there’s a list of materials included so you know what you need for each lesson) and can do art whenever we feel like it. Art can be one of those things that gets overlooked in homeschooling, but this makes it easy to include.
It’s a Great Way to Learn about Various Art Forms
If your kids are 8+ (younger kids can participate with help), they are going to love everything this course offers. Here is a list of various art forms your children will learn about:
- Sketching
- Acrylic painting
- Watercolor painting
- Chalkboard art
- Collage art
- Sculpting
- Hand lettering
- Art journaling
- And MORE!
Alisha Gratehouse, the creator of the Mixed Media Workshops, makes art accessible for kids rather than intimidating. She makes it a fun time of self-expression without being self-conscious.
In Springtime Splendor, you create art that reflects different aspects of spring:
the return of birds, butterflies, bees (and other bugs), the blossoming of trees and the blooming of flowers, rain showers, springtime critters, spring poetry and the simple delight in the beauty of God’s creation!
Mixed Media Art Workshops
Alisha offers courses for spring, summer, fall, and winter. In addition to the seasonal courses, she also offers Mixing with the Masters, Valentine’s Day, pet portraits, and You are a Masterpiece. I love the unique ways she comes up with to include art and represent the things we love in our life with simple beauty.
These courses are perfect for homeschoolers! Alisha is a homeschool mom herself. She provides detailed videos and supply lists. You’ll love her laughter and the joy she brings to art.
Altogether, there are 20 art projects in Springtime Splendor! That’s plenty to keep you busy this season.
I highly recommend these workshops, whether art comes naturally to you or you struggle with it. Alisha makes it something to look forward to in your homeschool day.
