Discover the World with Little Passports: A Fun and Interactive Learning Experience for Kids
Little Passports is a subscription-based service that offers educational and interactive experiences for children delivered right to your door. Each kit comes with all you need to introduce your kids to a new state or country in a hands-on, fun way. It’s like a virtual field trip for your homeschool!
Little Passports offers a variety of monthly subscriptions that allow kids to explore the world around them through a range of activities and games. In this blog post, we will explore what Little Passports is, how it works, and why it can be a great resource for parents and educators. I’ll also share our own personal experience with Little Passports, Ireland edition.
What is Little Passports?
Little Passports is a company that offers monthly subscriptions for kids aged 3 to 12. The company offers a range of subscriptions, including the Early Explorers for ages 3-5, World Edition for ages 6-10, Science Expeditions for ages 9+, and USA Edition for ages 7-12. Each subscription is designed to provide children with a fun and interactive way to learn about different parts of the world, science, and more.
How Does Little Passports Work?
Each Little Passports subscription comes with a kit that includes a variety of educational materials, such as maps, stickers, activity sheets, and souvenirs. The kits are designed to engage children in different topics and help them explore the world around them. For example, the World Edition kit might include a map of a different country or region, along with stickers and activities that encourage kids to learn about the culture, history, and geography of that location.
Subscribers also have access to online resources, including videos, games, and quizzes that complement the materials in the monthly kits. These resources provide a more in-depth look at the topics covered in each kit, and help reinforce what kids have learned through the activities.
Our Little Passports Review: Ireland
We received the Little Passports: Ireland Edition to use and review in our homeschool. This particular set is from the World Explorers series for ages 6-10.
It’s always fun to get a package in the mail, right?
We chose the Ireland package since we’d love to visit Ireland one day and our ancestors came from that beautiful green country. Around St. Patrick’s Day is also a good time to choose this one!
Included in the Ireland edition are the following items:
- Ireland paint book
- Ireland stickers — some of these go on your Little Passports suitcase (if you have previously received it when you started your subscription) and passport
- Ireland facts and activities book
- Ireland country coin for your Little Passports collection
- Dublin 3D Keepsake Cityscape — this is a really cool pop-up book type of activity featuring famous locations around Dublin
The activities are simple and fun, though they might be a little young for a 10-year-old. I think this particular box is probably the most fun for ages 5-8, in my opinion.
Pros:
- Everything is included and ships right to your door. This is a great incentive to get kids looking forward to studying geography every month!
- No prep time for moms. Need I say more?
- Provides a basic introduction to world cultures and traditions.
- It’s like a virtual field trip right from home.
- Additional companion resources and internet links available on the website.
- There are other options to choose from besides world geography that suit a wide range of ages.
Cons:
Honestly, I thought there would be more included in the box than we received. I do think it probably varies from country to country and especially between the different types of boxes, whether it’s geography or science. I’m not disappointed and it would not prevent me from subscribing. I’m just mentioning this as my initial impression.
