When Jesus Was a Green-Eyed Brunette {Book Review}
Sometimes in the everyday routine of life, we forget to be awestruck. Just like God’s chosen people who wandered in the desert and complained about the manna from heaven, we grow accustomed to our provision and forget to appreciate His presence. When Jesus was a Green-Eyed Brunette by Max Davis is a book full of powerful reminders and stories of real faith and real encounters with the real Jesus.
When Jesus was a Green-Eyed Brunette
You can surmise from the title that this book will keep you turning the pages to read the surprising stories of divine intervention. I don’t want to give away any of the amazing stories, but I will say that they are both heartwarming and bittersweet. Some will keep you on the edge of your seat while others will be cause for deep reflection. I won’t soon forget the stories I read in this book.
The author wanted to share reminders that Jesus is with us and within us always and that we’re always able to call upon that power and strength right where we are. Max Davis accomplished his goal with this book.
If you’re going to read this book, I suggest being prepared with a box of tissues. I couldn’t get through a single chapter without them! Not every story has a “happy” ending, but each story points us back to Christ.
About the Book
When Jesus Was a Green-Eyed Brunette weaves heartwarming and miraculous stories of Jesus showing up in ordinary people, revealing that He knows us and is fully present in our everyday circumstances, especially in our difficulties. Those hurting and weary from worn-out religion are longing for a fresh touch from the living Jesus. Best-selling author Max Davis challenges us to do more than simply receive God’s grace—we need to allow grace to soften, change, and shape us. As you read this book you will laugh, cry, and come face-to-face with the living Jesus, much like Davis did, when he found Him living in a green-eyed brunette. As Davis puts it, “Jesus is very much alive today and still does incredible things—sometimes supernatural things—through us!”
