A Daily Devotional for Tween Girls
A special daily devotional for tween girls can have a positive impact on a girl who is going through a rough transition time in life and trying to figure things out as she matures.
I remember well how tough it was going through the tween and into my teen years. Peer pressure. Big questions about life and faith. It all seemed so confusing and at times overwhelming. Let me tell you, now that I’m a mom of three girls, including one who will be 13 next month, it’s not so easy on this end of the journey either!
I want to prepare my daughters the best that I can and give them the tools to be successful and fulfilled with their faith through the hard times and hard questions. One of the tools I use with them is daily devotionals and time spent together in Bible study. That’s why I was glad to review Truth, Dare, and Double Dare: Another Year of Dynamic Devotions for Girls by Ann-Margret Hovsepian as part of the Family Christian Blogger Team.
A Devotional Made for Tween Girls
Big Sis (soon to be 13) likes to read daily devotionals so I’m always on the look-out for new ones to get her. This one especially appeals to girls her age. The colors on the cover are eye-catching and the fonts and format throughout the book look almost like a scrapbook or journal. There are even blank pages at the end of every week so that girls can write down their own thoughts about the verses and devotions.
Each day’s devotion has a title, a verse for Bible reading, a Truth (the lesson), a Dare (a short sentence to encourage application), a Double Dare (two specific steps/activities for deeper thought and action), and a Promise to Repeat (questions to think about).
The devotional shows days of the week, but not dates, so it can be started anytime easily and used year after year. Saturday and Sunday devotions are combined into one labeled “Weekends.”
The writing tone is conversational, as an older teen might talk to her younger sister. It’s Biblical truth shared in a relatable way. It is recommended for ages 8-12 by the publisher, but I think 10-15 would be a great age range.
Our Thoughts
Big Sis has enjoyed this devotional and reads it each morning as part of her daily routine. She often talks to me about what she has read or we read it together. I recommend this devotional to other moms of daughters!

Thank you for stopping by! Yes, she’s enjoying them very much. We even recommended it on our Christmas gift guide for tween girls this year. 🙂 She’ll be excited to know you left a comment here. She wants to be a writer, too.
