Quotable Women of the Suffrage Movement
I’m inspired and impressed by the women who were courageous enough to speak up for equal rights for women, especially the right to vote. They knew that without representation in government, women’s voices would never be heard in lawmaking, education, or health care. In spite of decades (centuries) of fighting, they did not give up until they finally achieved the right to vote. It was my great-grandmother’s generation that had the first chance to cast a ballot in a Presidential election. That’s not so long ago!
