The Last Ride by Susan K. Marlow { Circle C Milestones Book Series }

Answers in Genesis

My daughters love to read so much that it’s difficult to keep up the supply of books around here, even with trips to the library! When we find a favorite author like Susan K. Marlow, we look forward to reading the latest from her. We’ve read all the Circle C books and now my oldest daughter is moving on to the Circle C Milestones series that features Andrea Carter as a teenager. Our favorite things about the books — the likable character Andi, the horses, historical fiction, and the good moral lessons Andi learns — continue in this new series for older readers. We just finished reading The Last Ride, which is book three in the Milestones series.

Circle C Milestones Book Series

Review by my 14-year-old daughter ~

I have read all of the books in the first Circle C series and now the Circle C Milestones series. They are exciting stories and adventures. In Circle C Milestones: The Last Ride, Andi’s cousin Daniel is coming all the way from New York City to stay on the Circle C for a vacation. It doesn’t take long to find out that Daniel isn’t exactly one of the best people to be around, after he put snakes in her bed and read her diary. I really can’t tell much more about the secrets involved without giving away the whole story, but let’s just say that Andi has to make some tough decisions and face a lot of serious heartache in this book.

Every book so far has started with the theme of the book and a Bible verse that goes along with that theme. The first page of this book says:

Forgiveness:

A DELIBERATE DECISION TO LET GO OF RESENTMENT TOWARD AN OFFENDER

If any man have a quarrel against any:

even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Colossians 3:13

Summary

The Last Ride is another great installment in the Circle C Milestones series. It was a poignant story that had real moments of sadness, but the themes of grace and forgiveness offered hope and redemption in the end. It’s not easy to find young adult novels that are morally sound and represent a Christian worldview. We’re looking forward to Susan K. Marlow’s next book!
