There is a reference list for optional activities and resources to include as well.

I really like that approach because it aligns with our own homeschooling philosophy. This aspect is part of all of his courses, too. Note-taking is highly recommended and integral in all of the classes. He explains how to do this with the NSSR Method, which includes sketching to help visualize concepts and make them easier to remember.
Greg Landry is an enthusiastic teacher, which makes a very positive experience overall.
My middle daughter (15) is working through Consumer Math. I was so happy to see this option available as a new course! Math is our least favorite subject, but I want my daughters to have strong mathematical skills, of course. The kind of practical math skills that they will actually use in life, like figuring interest percentages and employment compensation, budgeting/saving, the metric system and standard measurements, and being able to balance their own checkbooks. She is even learning how to calculate square footage and cost per square foot when buying a house.
This is just the kind of course we needed for her right now. I believe every teen should take this course for life prep skills!
The Consumer Math course works just like the Marine Science course. It’s hosted on the same platform, it’s self-paced, and my daughter can log in whenever she wants to work independently on math. It also has a pdf textbook included. Each class has a suggested schedule for completing the assignments and tests, but again, it’s self-paced so you can adjust as necessary. It sometimes helps to have a roadmap and a general gauge for the amount of time to allow, though.
