The next day you’re in the middle of planning for your baby’s high school graduation. You’re picking out colleges and feeling excited and overwhelmed about the future.
Wait, what? How did that happen?
From customizable birth announcements to graduation announcements overnight. Well, at least it feels like it happened overnight. Is it really time to plan a homeschool high school graduation already? Where do I begin?
Preparing for a Homeschool High School Graduation
The first items that come to mind are the graduation announcements, the diploma, and the cap and gown. These things were easy when I went to public high school. The school handed you the brochures, you placed your order, and everything was standardized — just like the rest of my public school education. Being homeschool “rebels” continues through to graduation. There aren’t any standardized forms for us. We’ve got to pave our own way.
I want my daughter’s graduation to be a special event. She has worked hard and deserves her moment in the sun. Our local homeschool association hosts a yearly graduation ceremony and we’re going to participate in that when the time comes. I need to supply the other aforementioned items, though. I want to plan early so I won’t leave out any details!
Just as I was starting to sort through all of this in my mind, the opportunity to try out the stationery at Basic Invite came along. Perfect timing!
Totally customizable graduation announcements in tons of styles and colors. Did you catch that totally customizable part? Homeschool rebels for the win!
I had the chance to select my own design from the wide array available. I chose the layout and the colors. It was a simple process to put it together, though choosing from all the possibilities wasn’t so simple! I finally narrowed it down to the design that would work best for us, then asked my daughter to choose from the many colors available. She gave me a list of her favorites and I tried to work those into the announcement. I was torn between letting her do it completely by herself {which she could’ve done easily} or doing it myself to surprise her. I decided to ask her opinions, but keep the final design a secret until it arrived so I could surprise her with it.
Since we haven’t had her senior pictures taken yet and I don’t know all the details of her graduation, I chose the Sidelines graduation announcement style without a photo. This is a basic announcement that will be sent to family members out of state who won’t necessarily be attending her actual graduation ceremony. It’s a nice way to share the news with them without needing all the time/location information.
These graduation announcements are nice and thick so they won’t easily bend. I’m very happy with the quality. I was able to customize it so much with the colors and fonts that it looks completely different than the sample online! I also added a Bible verse at the bottom in place of the graduation ceremony details.
The Benefits of Using Basic Invite
Almost Unlimited Colors – Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail. This really sets them apart from other online stationery companies I’ve seen.
Custom Samples – Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so they can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before they ever have to place their final order.
Over 40 Different Colors of Envelopes – Basic Invite is just as colorful with their envelopes as they are with their invitations. Customers can choose from over 40 different colors when it comes to their envelopes so that they can make their invitation stand out even before it is opened. All of the envelopes are peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed. I love this feature!
Free Address Collection Service – Use the free address collection service to request your addresses with just three simple steps. Share a link, collect addresses, and get free envelope printing. I didn’t use this feature, but I can see how it would be a timesaver.
Basic Invite offers much more than graduation announcements. In fact, they specialize in all kinds of stationery, including photo birth announcements and other unique birth announcements.
