Courageous Love {Circle C Milestones Book 4}
We read our first Circle C book by Susan K. Marlow a few years ago. Since then we’ve grown to know and love Andrea Carter, the spunky main character in each book. We’ve followed her through her younger days in the series of books for early readers, then the Circle C Adventures books, and now as a teenager in the Circle C Milestones books. The most recent, and final, book in the Circle C Milestones series is Courageous Love.
Courageous Love
The Circle C Milestones books have been full of exciting adventures, suspense, and even humor as the stories develop around the maturing character Andrea Carter (Andi). This book is no exception. After the sad events of the last book (word of caution for sensitive readers: you’ll need tissues to get through Book 3!), my daughter was looking forward to reading what was ahead for Andi. It was bittersweet to finish this book knowing that it’s the last one in the series, but some loose ends were tied up and it ended on a hopeful, upbeat note. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but I can say that if you’re looking for wholesome books for your teen readers with positive story lines and vibrant characters, you won’t be disappointed with the Circle C Milestones series.
From the Publisher:
Andrea Carter is finally pulling her own weight on the Circle C Ranch she loves. The only thing she loves more than helping to run the ranch is spending time racing and stunt-riding on her horse Shasta, with the help of wrangler Riley Prescott. Little does she know that when she and Riley stumble onto a mysterious cut in the fence around her brother’s prize calves, life is about to get far more exciting–and dangerous.
A cryptic warning tied around a brick crashes through the window at a family party. Then cattle begin to die. When the horse barn catches fire, Andi knows this is more than just coincidence. But who is trying to hurt her family–and why? Evidence begins to point to criminals from her brother Justin’s past who want revenge. But that discovery may be too late to keep Andi and her brother’s family out of danger.
Now Riley is her only hope of rescue. Can he find her before she disappears from the Circle C forever? Can she keep everyone else safe until then?
The fourth volume in the Circle C Milestones quartet, Courageous Love is high on action, danger, and drama, and full of appealing characters readers love. Andi’s final adventure, sparked with a little romance, is sure to please Marlow’s legions of loyal readers who want a happy ending for this frontier heroine.
My Thoughts
With three horse-loving daughters, these books have been perfect for us. I was so glad to see the author continue the series for the teen years now that my oldest daughter is 15. I feel like Andrea Carter has grown up right alongside my daughter. I know she’ll remember these treasured books and probably share them with her own daughter one day.
I also appreciate that there is no objectionable material in these books. They have good moral lessons from a Christian worldview. Great stories, great characters, and great values. I highly recommend the Circle C books by Susan K. Marlow!
